This talk is intended for all parents, regardless of your child’s age and will be presented in collaboration with St. Edward’s Parent Council. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend!
We are happy to announce that Sunnyside Up Camp will be offering FREE child care for school aged children at St. Edward during the special event.
Space is limited to 20 students per school so we ask that you register your child for care, ONLY if it will make your participation possible. Otherwise, we ask that you save the spot for another family. Registration will be a first come, first serve.
For parents who have registered already and are in need of childcare, please email email@example.com and provide (1) your family name, (2) number of students, (3) their grades and (4) your school.

The Welcome Fair is coming up on September 20th from 4-7pm! There will be a BBQ, bouncy castles, a photo booth, a band, games and a silent auction. Please see flyer below and help make the event a success by volunteering (sign up here), donating prizes for games, or donating towards the silent auction. The parent council is happy to bring you an exciting experience: a chance to attend a Toronto Argonauts game as a school community! The students will also have the chance to be on the field during the national anthem. See the flyer for more details. You should receive a message through CashOnline to purchase. Deadline to purchase tickets is May 31. Wear your St. Cyril tshirts or hoodies spirit wear to the game or if you don’t have any, wear blue/white which is the Argos colours. Closer to the event we’ll provide more details about where/when to arrive at the field. Go Argos!
We are going to do a 4-week trial run beginning in February for one day a week (Mondays). If our school has at least 40 orders per day, the program will continue beyond February and potentially increase to two days per week if there is enough interest. This is an optional program and parents can opt in and out throughout the year.

3. Sign In – the ‘Welcome’ page displays with Program Info (ordering schedule, guidelines, etc.)
4. Click Order at top of navigation bar and go to the current month for ordering
5. Click the Order link on the calendar to begin – the first available date has “Order” in that day (Orders can be placed up to 48 hours in advance)
6. Check out & pay – Please be sure to complete the check-out process. Do not close your browser prior to receiving the confirmation display or your order may be interrupted and then not fully processed. Items just left in your shopping cart will not be processed and your order will not be placed.
You are not going to want to miss the big celebration we have planned on Friday September 21 from 4-7pm at the school. All past BBQ favourites plus additional entertainment to celebrate this milestone.

As an elected member of the parent council, you can help discover new and exciting ways to contribute to the education of the students in our school. CSPC council members actively participate in meetings and activities throughout the school year, committing to meet once a month. Meetings are structured to inform and encourage an open dialogue and enable a better understanding of school concerns and activities that will impact our children. Please take some time over the summer to consider your involvement with St. Cyril’s CSPC. Nomination forms will be available and accepted in early September.
Friday September 29, 2017 – ST. CYRIL’S BBQ
This annual event gets better year over year and is an event where everyone has fun! This year’s BBQ is sure not to disappoint with more games, food and activities for all.

Over the last few week, many of you may have noticed a transformation to the school yard with the introduction of 5 new trees in raised planter boxes, as well as vines along the fence adjacent to Beecroft Rd.
These plantings are a result of the work of the St. Cyril Green Team. A small group of parent volunteers on this team who approached the city to donate and plant the vines. They were also the successful recipients of a grant from Live Green Toronto, which has allowed for the cost of the tree plantings. The trees and vines bring much needed shade and other environmental benefits for the school community. Work is also underway for the planting of a living willow wall along the fence line adjacent to the parking lot, which will enhance the privacy and air quality of the area.
Come spring 2017, we will need to rely on parent/student volunteers who can spend some time on evenings and weekends during the summer months to help water the vines and trees. This will help to ensure that they continue to grow during the crucial first 2 years after planting. For more information on the Green Team’s journey, please visit our page . In addition, St. Cyril has been provided with decorative holiday urns in the front entrance of the school thanks to the creative work of parent volunteer Cindy Landry; as well as a new Christmas tree in the main foyer. Both of these were made possible through funds supplied by CSPC and add a beautiful element this holiday season!
