The St. Cyril CSPC would like to invite you to a virtual presentation by Sara Westbrook on Tuesday, March 16th at 6.30 pm. With the stress and uncertainty many families are facing today the speaker shares strategies to help families ‘bounce back’ from challenging circumstances. The event is geared toward both parents and students and families are encouraged to watch together.
Even though the event is fully funded by the CSPC we ask that families register through this Eventbrite Invitation. Registration deadline is Sunday March 14th and the link will be emailed on the day before the event to those who registered.
Be notified about Pizza Days, spiritwear, parent engagement opportunities, virtual events, meetings and all Parent Council initiatives.
Dear parents, please register even if you have registered in the past and are receiving CSPC emails.
Who we are
St. Cyril’s Catholic School Parent Council (CSPC) is made up of parent volunteers, along with teacher representatives, the principal and other community members who all work together to enhance the school experience for the students.
What has changed
COVID 19 has placed restrictions on what activities and experiences our children can have during school hours. Our intention is to find creative solutions and innovative ideas to support our school and enhance the learning experience. We know that field trips and activities like scientists in the school will likely not be safe to enjoy this year. However we have found ways to deliver virtual field trips or virtual workshops that classes would benefit from that even our families in the virtual model could participate in with their St. Cyril classmates.
What we can do
Last year CSPC donated 3 smart TVs to the school (one for every floor). They have been a very successful addition to the delivery of programming amongst all classes. This year our goal is to equip all 13 classrooms with a smart TV by December. This way, all students would have the opportunity to attend virtual masses, assemblies, workshops etc. Accessible technology will enable our school to remain safely connected and engaged while classes still remain in their cohorts. We have the opportunity to transform our traditional classrooms into 21st century classrooms with technology.
How we can do this
Our parent councils fundraising abilities are limited with our annual BBQ being cancelled and we are trying to work on the logistics to safely hold pizza days (stay tuned). We are asking for a one time donation as we have in the past. More details can be found on the Fundraising page.
As parents supporting an eco school we are conscious of our paper consumption. We will no longer be sending any paper notices and letters home. We will be moving all collection of donations or sales of spiritwear to cash online, e-Transfers and online forms of payment. Pleaseregister hereso you have all the information you need.
Please register to confirm your attendance here. To register for child care, please follow the registration link.
We are thrilled to announce that speaker Paul Davis will be presenting on January 30th. Paul is an engaging speaker who is passionate about educating children and empowering parents on the topics of Social Networking and Online Safety. Please see the attached flyer.
This talk is intended for all parents, regardless of your child’s age and will be presented in collaboration with St. Edward’s Parent Council. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend!
We are happy to announce that Sunnyside Up Camp will be offering FREE child care for school aged children at St. Edward during the special event.
Space is limited to 20 students per school so we ask that you register your child for care, ONLY if it will make your participation possible. Otherwise, we ask that you save the spot for another family. Registration will be a first come, first serve.
For parents who have registered already and are in need of childcare, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and provide (1) your family name, (2) number of students, (3) their grades and (4) your school.
